Initiated by Funso Saint Adekunle,the President/CEO, HOUSE OF FUSHI NIGERIA.Ijebu fashion week is the first ever fashion event in Africa that showcase every facet of fashion i.e FASHION DESIGNERS,BEAUTICIANS, HAIR STYLISTS,SHOE MAKERS,BEAD/JEWELRY/CRAFT MAKERS etc on runway. Ijebu Fashion Week will be a platform to discover new talents and give opportunities to those that would not normally be able to afford to participate at major fashion shows.

The concept of Ijebu Fashion Week started in 2011 when the maiden edition was held in the popular Ijebu-Ode Club on the 16th – 18th December, 2011. During the event, fashion designers, shoe makers, hair stylists, models, etc were given ample opportunity to showcase their works. Participants came from different parts of Ijebuland and neighbouring cities. The success of the maiden edition brought many indigenous fashion experts into limelight and unveiled upcoming models as well. The edition was in partnership with the Ogun State Ministry of Tourism and Culture.

The second edition of Ijebu Fashion Week was more successful than the first and it was held in Legan hall and events centre on the 28th – 30th September, 2012 which attracted an audience of 700+ visitors. Fashion enthusiasts and participants were represented from different facets of the fashion world. Celebrities, politicians, and important personalities from the corporate world were in attendance. Various awards were given to personalities in appreciation of their contributions to the success of the event and the society at large. Participants were given certificates for their participation while awards were given for best performances. This edition was in partnership with the Ogun State government and sponsored by corporate bodies such as the Adire/KampalaAssociation of Nigeria, Da Viva, Ziddie Water, etc.

After two successful years, the third edition of IJFW 2013 will be an integral part of the OJUDE OBA FESTIVAL in Ijebu Land, Ogun State, Nigeria. The world famous socio-cultural festival that bring back home millions of ijebu sons and daughters. This event will take place at the most popular Cathedral Church of Our Saviour, Itaoluwajoda, Ijebu- Ode, Ogun-State, Nigeria.
